The Concept of TCRA
Touring Car Racing Association was founded in 1995 by a group of car enthusiasts
who realized they had no satisfactory way of really enjoying the handling and
speed of their sports cars. They wanted to explore the potential of both
themselves and their cars driving at high speeds in a safe and controlled
environment. Thus, was born Touring Car Racing Association.
The concept is simple: get enough people interested in doing
the same thing, pool their resources, and they'll have access to something they
otherwise would not. In TCRA's case, this is race tracks, and professionally
experienced race organizers.
Unlike formalized sanctioned racing, TCRA allows you to drive your car at
whatever level of modification, from straight stock to fully race prepared, on
permanent road course race tracks. Maybe you want a low-cost way to see if race
driving really is as fun as it sounds, or you just want to vent a little need
for speed without Smokey on your tail? Either way, TCRA offers a safe and
supervised environment to test your skills, the limits of your car, and most of
all have a great deal of fun driving your car in a way you just can't achieve on
the streets and highways.
